Who gets rep points? D'man? Why would he want rep points on his own forum? We all respect him & love him, even if some idiot / retard makes him have -50 rep

Nice Malice. It's a good one to play to get your alternative finger playing going.

I normally play the open A rather than playing 5th fret on the E.

Ok, this is the first time i do this.

I think i figured out: The Unforgiving II By Metallica. ( I could still be a little bit off though)

/ = Slide up

E|-5----5--5--5/8—8—8---3----3—3—0----0—0-----5----5—5/8—8—8—8\\3---------0----0---0---|

A|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

D|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

G|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

There should be another note between the last G and the first of the last three open E’s. I just haven’t found it yet, but I’m sure it’s somewhere on the A string

This is just a crazy idea, which will not be fulfilled(if I even attempt it) until I get a decent camera. But I thought I'd just throw it out there: would anyone at all be interested in bass how-to videos of every track off Metallica's Kill 'Em All album? This is the track listing(just for anyone who doesn't know it):

1. Hit the Lights
2. The Four Horsemen
3. Motorbreath
4. Jump in the Fire
5. (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth
6. Whiplash
7. Phantom Lord
8. No Remorse
9. Seek & Destroy
10. Metal Militia

I'm definitely willing to record and upload all of them, with the exception of Anesthesia which would be a "maybe." I know Cliff never really played it the same way twice but I would still like to get as close to the studio track as possible. So I'll record that one if I can figure out enough of it to please me, haha.

Once again, this would not happen for several months, but I would love to start recording by the end of the year. Gives me plenty of time to burn every song into my brain(and bust my balls over Anesthesia), haha. I was just throwing the idea out there, wondering if anyone would appreciate me doing that sometime. Surprised

Stefk0, that isn't right.

G-----------------------------------------
D--------------------------------(2)-----
G-----------3-2--0--0-3-2--------------
D-0--0-2-3-----------------3-0----------
This is the riff in D, but it requires two strings to be tuned down.

G----------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------(0)-
A------------1-0-------------------------
D-0--0-2-3-------3--3-1-0---3-0-----
This is easier, string wise, but it is a bit harder to play.

G-----------3-2--0--0-3-2------(7)------
D-0--0-2-3-----------------3-0----------
A------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------
Best. Get an octave pedal and play Wink

The high D is sometimes played and sometimes not, but the whole song is this riff over and over again, sometimes with high D and sometimes without.

srsly? I kept playing that my riff over and over again and it sounded swell to me.

I think it's in a #D btw...

EDIT: Edited to what feels right to me... I dunno why I had the first fret signalled, it's the second fret on the A.

Now I'm pretty sure it's in a #D

You mean D-Sharp? The # sign comes after it and you should equal out it on your tab with the other notes. I usually play it in A, since I don't like to go through the hassle of tuning my bass for every fart.

G -----------3-2--0--0-3-2------(7)-------
D#-0--0-2-3-----------------3-0----------
A --------------------------------------------
E --------------------------------------------
Add an octave pedal and play Smile
