A bit too many 5-strings tbh, but that headless looks really cool.

You can never have too many 5-strings.

Oh really? I got it super cheap and freakin love it. Even if I can't figure out every knob on it.

You can never have too many off-topic posts in a thread about photos. Oh wait.

So how would I string a bass like this with that kind of bridge? How would I put the string in?

Mine's pretty much exactly the same. When stringing the bass, I get my sister to hold the string in the bridge properly while I bugger about putting the strings on the posts.

edit: Say the bass is lying flat on the floor, I just push the string through the top of the bridge.

So uhhh I'm doing my strings right now and my 5th string doesn't fit into my bridge. I think it's smaller than my old one which doesn't make any sense, just the tip is fatter and won't fit. What do I do?

My new 5th string didn't fit either. Bridge or nut. I'm going to have to go to a luthier to get the bass set up properly to accommodate it, I imagine that's what you'll have to do as well but I'm not 100% certain. DubHertz'll know Razz

Would guitar center be able to do it? Perhaps I should just get a different set of strings if it's gonna cost?

Could I freeze part of the string to make it smaller?

Violence and lube fixes everything, you should try that.

I ended up just filing the tip of the string.

I can't use picks that far up. I gotta use them down by the bridge.

Where I use a pick depends on what sound I want to get. Playing up there gives a nice sound that goes "tschack" or "chunk" with every note (think Korn, except not that extreme), and it fits extremely well with the sound of this band.

Not me in the pictures, by the way. That's our singer, who is the bass player in a prog metal band that I helped out with in studio. He also doesn't have a bass, so he usually borrows mine, like there. I was with them in studio to help lay down some bass because I'm a pretty cool guy and also they couldn't get it to sound as good as they wanted it to. Backing vocals and some of the bass are their actual bass player, they're sort of swapping between our two lines all the time, as we play them in kinda different ways, some of his parts sounded better than mine, and some of mine sounded better then him. Most of "Overture" (I didn't even know the name of it, we just call it "the 7er") is me, the other two songs are Mikael.

Give them a listen, and download the songs, because that's a nice boost for their stats! They're currently well within Top Metal/Hard Rock for last month and last week, so it'd be cool to keep them there.

Also, skinny jeans are sexy.

noticed on your third pic your lead is hanging straight from your bass. Little tip, hook the lead through your strap so its sitting near the strap holder then into your bass, if that makes sense. That way you wont stand on your lead and pop it out of your bass.
