44 year old newbie - picked up a bass a year ago, messed about and had a few lessons, then really got stuck into it in March this year. Now have a band, and am learning loads of covers, and also writing my own songs/riffs.

Like stuff by The Clash, The Stranglers, Nirvana, Green Day and loads more.

Hello anyway.

I figured out you are never to old to rock.....!

Well Hi there friendly bass players Smile (High five to Dman!Very Happy)

My name's Amir, I'm from Ilam, Iran .... And started playing bass from like 3 weeks ago Embarassed Got a Yamaha RBX374, took me quite some time to find something that fitted my budget... A student's budget indeed Very Happy
I'm mostly aiming for Metal, will probably get a band going when I go back to university a few months later, really looking forward to it in fact Smile
Yea, I stumbled onto Dman on youtube too, got to his site and eventually this forum right here Smile Can't thank him enough for the effort he's putting into this teaching work of his, being free and damn good on the teaching methods too Smile
Oh yea, I was 'bout to forget, I'm a terrorist and I go with an AK-47 to my uni classes everyday, and yea, we shoot each other for fun! quite common stereotyping about Iranians Smile

Soo yea, just saying Hi to u guys:) Bass of luck!

And cut the talk about Americans and stuff man, ain't gonna raise any pretty feelings Cool Trust me, I've seen my share of stereotyping from non-Americans, it's not restricted to any country Smile anyway, let's leave it be.

Hello

My name's Steve* and I've been an alcholic for - oh, wait, wrong forum

Like, I suspect, most people here I've joined due to the debt of honour I owe Kris/Dman for gettin my bass-learning on track. I've had my bass for two years but I've only truly been learning since I stumbled onto his videos on Youtube. For the first time I feel like I can actually become a competant player. So, here I am to rub cyber shoulders with people on the same journey...

*middle name is James. Hence "Stevie Jim" ...it was my showbizzy name for Guitar Hero. I guess you had to be there.

This forum seems to only have two things left:

-Welcoming newbies
-Answering questions

Welcome newbies! Can I answer any of your questions?

Sup I'm Grungie. I'm currently running my own forumotion forum, and a mod on Mxtabs. Just looking for places to post and people to meet.

People try calling me out as a weaboo but it's kind of strange since I'm actually Japanese and should be exempt from that title.
