I'm in my 4th week of having an "official" bass teacher, going over music theory and chords. It's interesting memorizing everything, but when you pick up the bass after a lesson, you can notice a difference. It's really cool!

does every topic on this forum always go Off Topic?

I'm planning on taking lessons with a teacher too, though there are quite long waiting lists at music schools in my area so it prob isn't gonna happn for another couple of months.

nah, he's a real bassist, he also organizes local gigs and bands and stuff and I think he's in a Jazz Group

But yeah, he's probably a good bassist, that doesn't necessarily makes him a good teacher though, but I've got confidence It'll be good.

Turns out he's the Bassist and songwriter of a Funkband called Soul Vaccination (yes, after the ToP song), who apparently are quite a big name in the Dutch soul-funk community( something I never imagined to exist), but he seems a very nice bloke and a very good bass player.
