Re: Bass teacha!
I'm in my 4th week of having an "official" bass teacher, going over music theory and chords. It's interesting memorizing everything, but when you pick up the bass after a lesson, you can notice a difference. It's really cool!

The part below your knee is the shin, and the back part of your leg below your knee is called the calf.

I'm planning on taking lessons with a teacher too, though there are quite long waiting lists at music schools in my area so it prob isn't gonna happn for another couple of months.

Nice! Hopefully the teacher is a proper bass player rather than a guitarist who thinks they can play bass just because they play guitar

nah, he's a real bassist, he also organizes local gigs and bands and stuff and I think he's in a Jazz Group

he's complimenting you smax..
But yeah, he's probably a good bassist, that doesn't necessarily makes him a good teacher though, but I've got confidence It'll be good.

I got booted from Jazz Ensemble for not being able to read music. That's why I quit school.

Turns out he's the Bassist and songwriter of a Funkband called Soul Vaccination (yes, after the ToP song), who apparently are quite a big name in the Dutch soul-funk community( something I never imagined to exist), but he seems a very nice bloke and a very good bass player.
