EADG, and occasionaly DADG/Drop D/whateveryouwannacallit for a couple of songs (Obstacle 1 by Interpol comes to mind)

Tuning everything down a semitone makes it easier to jam in flat keys. And for Song Two by Blur.
Drop D is good when you need that extra step for a pedal note. And for By The Way.

Re: What different tunings do you use?
Totally depends about guitar or singer.
Mostly standart tuning or d-tuning and then some times dropped(if standard e-tuning then dropped d and if standard d-tuning then dropped c)

Usually just standard tuning. Drop D sometimes for mucking about, but usually I stick to standard tuning.

Standard - EADG.
Very rarely DADG.
Same. When playing By the way or Killing in the name of.

Standard and D Standard mostly. Drop D sometimes, but if it's at all possible to stay in D Standard then I'll just keep it there.

Oh man, i've gone through every note on my E at some point or another. Dropped half a step for a couple of years during the grunge era...
I think my all time fav tuning is EADE.

Re: What different tunings do you use?
I had my Jazz tuned down 1/2 step to flat tuning, I thought that was pretty sweet. Apart from that, I tune down to drop D every now & again, but don't think I'd need to venture lower than that

Drop B automatically points to Korn for me.. It's supposed to have more of a click rather than a tone, but it is really hard to play right because the string keeps slipping off the board :\. I play in low tunings alot, BF#BE, BEAD and the like.. Heavier strings aren't really needed to play them, but you do need the bass readjusted if you want to play it without excessive buzz.

Usually just standard tuning but every once in a great while I'll play in drop D. I don't think I would go much lower, I feel like the E string would be so loose.

Re: What different tunings do you use?
A E B E, I'm weird like that. It's all about the feel and emotional punch when I play in this tuning, as opposed to the smoothness. It's rough on purpose, slapping the A sounds like someone just broke their neck or something.. Note I do this with normal strings and a bass that has too much backbow in it, so it buzzes pretty bad unless I play it really well.
