The heavier gauge might mean you'll need a slight action adjustment and it'll also be unnecessarily hard to play on. So I've heard, anyway.

Good for drop tunings which is pointless past B in my opinion.

Was reading some posts on ultimate guitar, and someone said these strings lose their flavor after about 3 weeks.

I had a hearty chuckle as well.

Anyway yeah I forgot about them being quite good for drop tunings, if you and your band end up playing a bit o' metal then they could be useful.
