my 5 string bass

Post  androssie on Mon Jul 18, 2011 4:26 pm

hey guys,
at first i wanted to sell my 5 string bass because i wasnt a 5string player.
but now i fell in love with it again, and probably because my band is going to play a lot of Disturbed and Slipknot, (which on my bass sounds heavenly)
but the only porblem is: it has somekind of fretbuzz D=
i gues its that my strings are to close to the fretboard but i have no idea how to solve this. should i go and pay a musicstore to fix it or is it easy to fix it myself? (i m not that good of a techguy, i cant even fix my door....)
well i gues i awnsered myself with this, but i want your opinion about it Embarassed
thx!

I don't know. I'd probably take it to a luthier. Well, if I were sensible I would... Twisted Evil

Which frets are buzzing? How old are the strings, are they the original strings that came with the bass?

Sounds like a truss rod/ setup issue...you will need to take it to a guitar tech
