alternating tuning consistently - damaging?

Post  LostFaithButFoundBass on Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:44 pm

alright people?
I drop tune my guitar for an hour or two to play in dropped D tuning, then reset back to E standard.
QUESTION: Will this damage my Schecter Stiletto 4 over time, if I consistently repeat this???
Cheers

Not the bass itself no, but your intonation my have to be adjusted if your changing tunings a lot.

Why would the intonation need to be adjusted? I'm curious now... Razz

String tension, constantly changing your tuning will change the string tension therefore your intonation will more than likely change.

Depends, check it when you feel your higher notes sound out of tune.
