Bass Guitar Cleaning
Hi, I'm new here and I really have no clue as to how often/how to clean my bass...

the important thing is that you THOROUGHLY dry it once cleaned, fret rust is bad.

All I do is use a cloth to wipe the strings after each session. This helps the strings last longer. Also, dust off the head once in a while, unless you keep it in a case. As for the body, I also use a cloth for that after every session.
There are these special oils for cleaning it, but I don't bother with those.

It's good to go over the whole bass with one of those microfibre cloth things whenever you change your strings, as well. I wouldn't recommend ever getting your bass wet.

There's some special kind of neck/fretboard polish that's really neat as well, but it's not really all that important.
