This is a silly question i know but i dont know how to tell a bass amp from a guitar amp. I started playing bsss guitar last year and some guys I know said they'd start a band with me but they've been playing for years and I'm really embarassed when I go to their house and I dont know which one is the bass amp and which is guitar. I understand why they're different amps but I can't tell which is which by looking at them and I feel really stupid

I actually have no idea how to answer this question. Not because I think it's a stupid question, but because I also have no idea whatsoever Razz

All I've got is that it might say on the back somewhere whether it's a bass or guitar amp, bass amps usually have fewer EQ/tone knobs and bass amps are really bloody heavy. Both those last things don't apply to all bass amps, though, and don't apply to any bass heads.

Hopefully someone else can give a better answer Razz

Usually it says on the back of the amp. If not just plug it in, you should be able to tell from the sound you get whether the amp is bass or guitar. There's no obvious visual features that tell you its a bass or guitar amp (as far as I know).

If there are no other clues I'd go with the one with the smallest amount of knobs, guitarists love to fiddle with knobs and settings and things like that.
