FL Studio
So does anyone know how to use FL Studio? Besides creating drum beats, I'm pretty lost with it. How do you add other instruments? Can you record into it? How do you make different time signatures? Can you make the drums longer than just one measure? Any knowledge of this program would be sweet. Thanks, gents!

Re: FL Studio
Any good program like FL has a massive learning curve my friend. Ableton took me forever to learn, as did Nanostudio etc.
Never tried FL (although I'm thinking of getting the iPad version) but just get your head down and find as many tutorials on it as you can...

Re: FL Studio
Well, I've been using FL Studio for about 6 years now, and I'm still learning new stuff every day! It's way too much to explain in a single post, so I'll help you with individual parts.
Don't worry, one day your projects will look as scary as this:
Channels > add oneHow do you add other instruments?
It is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's a lot better if you record stuff with an external program (like Audacity), and import it into FL studio as a sample. This way you can trim the audio better outside of FL, and tweak it more once it's in.Can you record into it?

You can! FL Studio (and other software similar) are all about creating short measures, and chaining them together, like a playlist. You can see a number next to the BPM named "PAT". This is the pattern number you are currently on. If you change that to 2, you will see your current drum pattern will disappear. Once you have filled in patterns for 1 and 2, you lay them down in the playlist editor (F5). This is quite hard to explain in words alone, so you may need more (better) help with this! Can you make the drums longer than just one measure?

Re: FL Studio
That's some great stuff right there. I've been using FL for a while, and still only just enough to get some basic synths in. Just takes patience and a lot of experimentation along with trial and error.
