Your steps to learning
Title says it all!
I start er off:
1. Dman's site
2. Began reading tabs on ultimate-guitar and bassmasta
3. Started creating my own riffs (only a few)
4. Played along with the songs I learned from Dman and tabs on youtube (about 10 now)
Been playin' for two months, what about ya'll?

Re: Your steps to learning
1. Bought a bass. A red one, cause red goes faster! Or that was my theory...
2. About half a year later i returned a borrowed amp and bought my own.
All this time i have just been hitting random notes, not really learning anything. Just getting a feel for it. (And blisters)
3. Found Dman on Dailymotion.
4. Started playing some of his stuff and basically incorporating some of my own idea's into it.
5. Bought a few magazines with tabs in them. Ended up with doing as above.
6. I still sound like shite because i just can't get my speed up and i can't play with a pick.
Conclusion:
I'll have to improvise my own technique.
Which i'm doing now. There for i haven't actually posted a vid yet.

2. Got a bass, mate taught me a couple of songs.
3. Joined a band, learnt their songs & played with them.
4. Learnt tabs, but only half heartedly.
5. Gave up playing bass.
6. Was shown a couple of bass videos, started playing again.

8. Learning to play by ear more than tabs
