Learn to play: Tabbed!

Post  Garth on Fri Aug 21, 2009 6:14 am

Alright, so I noticed there were a few of these tabs already written, several by Guzco and one I noticed by Fuzzybear.
So I took on the rest of them. Smile

Obviously, there are only the free learn to plays.

Make sure you watch the video first for the explanation, the tabs make a lot more sense after you've watched the videos.

If you notice anything wrong in the tabs, just post it and I'll edit it back into the tabs!

Legend:
Above Tab
s = slap
p = pop

In Tab
X = mute
h = hammer on
p = pull off
/ = slide up
\ = slide down

Ordered tabs to go along with Dman's Lesson Tree, randoms, then Dman's own.

Creep
Stand By Me
Seven Nation Army
Come Together
Under The Bridge
If you want me to stay
Beat It
Play that funky music
Orion

Roxanne
Daytripper
Cannonball
Would?
Pretty Little Ditty (Part 1)

Note - In the video, Dman adds a few different elements.
1) After hammering on the13th fret on the G string, he slaps all the strings for a percussion feel
2) The 12th fret slide can also be bended and/or slapped.
3) The 12\1 slide can also be slapped a few times in the process.

E l-5/7----------------X-7-6-5-----

All "cool funk lines to learn" are copyright of Dmanlamius.com

EDIT: Um, not to sure why, but the slap and pop parts get all messed up when I post and can't seem to fix...

There is an alternative to the white stripes which i learned before i saw dmans version :

E [--7-7-10-7-5-3-2--]

Doesnt really make much of a difference but it may be easier cus its all on one string

Radiohead: Creep

G l--------------------|----------------------|---------------------|-------------------------------------------
D l--------------------|----------------------|---------------------|-------------------------------------------
A l--------------------|---2---22----2---22-|--3---33---3----33-|----3---33---3---33----3-5-6-8---------
E l--3--333-33--333-|3----2-----2----2---|-3---3----3----3----|---3---3----3---3----3-------------------

For the intro change the last phrase to
Radiohead: Creep

G l----------
D l---------
A l---3-5-6
E l-3--------1

Outro

Radiohead: Creep

G l---------------------|-----------------------|----------------------|----------------------|
D l---------------------|-----------------------|----------------------|----------------------|
A l---------------------|---2---22----2---22- |--3---33----3---33- |--3---33----3---33-|
E l-3---33----3---33|-------------------------|----------------------|----------------------|

That's what it sounds like to me anyway
This is a simplified version as well there are other parts with slight variations which I shan't post and can't figure out at the moment anyway.
Correct me if I'm wrong

Heh, thanks guys.

But I still don't understand why the slap/pop part is messed up, perfectly fine in the edit box...

I had some problems too when I initially made the tabs. Thanks for the credit by the way.

Great post!

Why don't you try using - inbetween the s & p's, like the main tab? e.g.

-s--p-p---s-s-p--s--p-s--p--p--s-s-p-s---p-s

It's because the extra spaces are removed automatically. This is what you're looking for:

Change the tabs to a differnent font, so you dont have to worry about it going all over the place.

First post, yay me.

I thought it was a slide from 12 to 13, so it'd look like this

G l-------------- G l--------------------------------------------------------------------
D l---------9-9- D l-12/14-12-----12-------------------------------------------------
A l--------------- A l-------------14-----14--12-10-12/13-12-10---------------------
E l-3-5-6------ E l---------------------------------------------------12-10-0---------

Only small, but just wanted to get the word from the man himself.

Just noticed that you accidentally put that you slap the first 14th on the D, which I've changed to a slide on the second one.
