Help With Popping????

Sometimes when I'm popping a string, my index finger on my right hand (my popping finger) hits the string underneath it where the skin is connected to bottom of the nail and after a while it might start to bleed. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening? Like changing the angle of my hand or would adjusting my strap make any difference?

I presume you're slapping Flea style? Maybe try curling your index finger in a bit more. If that doesn't work then try changing the angle of your hand, so that your hand is more parallel to the strings, which should automatically feel more comfortable for your arm if you raise the strap

I had the same problem, i just popped slowely watching what i was doing, and i would get faster slowly. Ive never had that problem again.

I'll just be boring here. Start slowly, find a way of popping that doesn't hurt your finger like that and go all the way from scratch.
