Happy Hardcore Bands?
Just today I was surfin around teh interwebs and came across these guys: My Space Link: Prom Night In Black and White
And really fell in love with this sound, well at least the two songs labeled *NEW* (Stand Your Ground, Heres To Hoping.) So I was wondering if anyone knew of any other "Happy Hardcore" bands out there? If you do could ya please post with a link or something so I can listen right away?
Hutch thanks you in advance for any help you might mabeh provide.

Re: Happy Hardcore Bands?
ok so they sound similar to the type of stuff that simple plan play except with a bit more drumming.

It's a shame they split up..
I'm not normally into that kind of stuff but they were good.

Re: Happy Hardcore Bands?
If you're specifically into the drums, thats not going to be easy to find...
Otherwise, Blink 182 and Sum 41 sound pretty much the same.
Also if we stretch it a bit - The Offsrping.
Probably loads of other american teenage rock/punk bands.

Re: Happy Hardcore Bands?
Sorry for being scene asshole but happy hardcore is bit misleading here just cause it is techno genre.
But i think there is a lot of these "happy" punk/rock bands.
Check this one from Finland https://www.youtube.com/user/Noixx89#p/u/2/t0rHq_e4rWc and another video from No Shame https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zccPQ0vGVNE skip the interview.
No Shame is still bit underground but really good band.

Re: Happy Hardcore Bands?
Thanks again guys, Sum 41 and Blink 182 I'd argue are completely different, though I still like both bands. I've never heard of the Getaway Plan before, but I'll definatly check it out as soon as I can get on my computer with sound, this one runs in safe mode so the speakers are disabled .
And I had no clue it was a techno genre I just assumed it was like the songs I said, only cause their kinda "hardcore" sounding but really light and happy.

They kinda sound like... my mates band http://www.myspace.com/chargrilledsquirrels
Gawd they sound sooooo Scottish. O its bad.
I'm trying to think of professional bands... lol
To me thats not happy hardcore... happy hardcore is more like.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lVJTPRCf-o From where I am. lol
Kinda punky... maybe like.. Rise Against, bowling for soup, sugercult ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMJUy_HN-00 ).
All this sort of music takes me back to my young days of running about in baggy jeans with chains and tight tank tops!! and dancing like crazy at the Cat house unders ( local rock and metal club )
Good times...
EDIT: Saying that the only thing thats changed is now I can haz alcohols when I go to the catty to dance about like a nutter xD

I'm digging your friends music, but yeah you can definatly tell their scottish lol. And thanks again everyone, while I'll admit I didn't get anything exactly like what I was looking for, you still all helped me find some awesome bands. (Lovin No Shame, and Getaway Plan.)
And sorry for the misleading title, it turns out from Akrya's example that I actually don't like Happy Hardcore at all .

Re: Happy Hardcore Bands?
that was the thing that i was mention..
Same goes with hardcore.
like.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ulI-Vja8iE
If you are talking just hardcore and not hardcore punk or '82 hardcore
edit.
Try to find No Shames Schpunk and Rebound for glory albums. Really good stuff.

I'll try, tommorow I'll be heading to town so I'll take a look at the malls record store, but I doubt it'd be there, never been in the place but it seems like they'd only carry well-known stuff, and I don't know of any other music related stores in town since I'm so new here. If not then maybe surf around a bit for them online.
And gaaawd, Happy Hardcore and Hardcore are terrible genres of techno, really painful to listen to. Might be a bit better if I were under the influence of some illegal substances.

Re: Happy Hardcore Bands?
There is a site that has a few happy hardcore songs/bands on it
Here: http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/
From there click "hardcore" on the left-hand side and you'll see "happy" in the 90's section of the little map they give.
