I've got my recording setup worked out except for a small latency issue. It's pretty minute, but it throws me off on the fast technical bits. Any advice?

Well a proper interface will sort it out and it is specifically made to dealing with guitars etc. Something cheap like a zoom multi-effects pedal, M-audio, Line 6 etc should do the job on a budget.

These are suppose to be extremely good for the money, and there is a cheap version that just has the one input.

The guitar player in my band has a pod, but I can barely afford to stay alive, so I'll just have to deal.

Well i'm sure there will be some one who might be able to help you. Though I've read about people who experience latency when using their computers internal sound card so it seems like a common thing.

I had a similar problem with Guitar rig (latency), but there's this driver thingy that helped me. Just google "Asio4all" and you should find the download page and instructions.
I'm in a hurry, so I can't give you the links.
I hope it helps it did help me.

I have asio. It only does it in Fruity loops, so I'll have to tinker a bit.
