need some new bands

can anyone give me some bands or songs in particular i could play? the genres i listen to are punk, punk rock, rock, some modern funk, and softer music (cant remember the genre) like creep by stone temple pilots. some of the harder songs i can play are cant stop by the red hot chili peppers, killing in the name of by rage against the machine, and hero by skillet. Id also appreciate some bands that use 5 strings. Please and thank you!

David, do you like KoЯn? Fieldy is a pretty high profile 5 string player. I don't like them at all personally, though. Also try learning some downtuned 4-string songs on your 5-string, that's quite fun that is.

There aren't really that many popular songs written for a 5-string. I got a 5-string mainly so I could get a deeper bass tone by playing things further down the neck rooted on the B string.

As for other songs or bands... all that springs to mind is reggae. Guess Who's Coming To Dinner by Black Uhuru is good 'learn by ear' song. Oh, how about some Bad Religion? They've been one of my favourite bands for some time now and I think you listen to them already, don't you? I highly recommend Sanity.

i love the stone temple pilots but can never figure out the timing in their songs
