Who's your favorite guitarist? Do you have a favorite guitarist? What do you like about that particular guitarist?

I personally have two favorites: Rory Gallagher and Jeff Beck.

Rory had Blues, on an Acoustic, Electric or, well, anything else. He was a real (blues) guitar master and, on top of that, seemed a likable fellow too.

Jeff Beck is quite possibly the most versatile guitarist of all time, he's played rock, blues, jazz, metal, fusion, even electro. He's possibly also the most dedicated, all through the sixties while everybody was smoking dope and sticking flowers in their hair he was playing his guitar, all through the seventies, while his Yardbird brethren were to busy getting addicted to heroin and stealing Georgie Harrison's wife, he was playing his guitar. now Jimi's Gone, Rory's gone, (musically) Clapton & Page are gone and Jeff is still one of the best around, if not the best.

Also Tal on bass I love you

Mark Knopfler. I suspect that's because I know more of his stuff than Eric Clapton's or Jeff Beck's, though.

I just like the way he plays. Every note sounds... meticulous.

I'm a huge Rory Gallagher fan, so he would be up there with my favourites. I dont think I have a defining favourite it changes depending on my mood lol. But a few all time favourites would be Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Slash and Dimebag Darrell. Each one brought something unique to the instrument, weather it be virtuosity, creative songwriting, killer rffs or just amazing tone.

How in heaven's name did I forget king Bill?

He's the grand overlord of everything that's epic in this world.

Santana, whom you all certainly know, just because he's different.

Buckethead and Miyavi:

...and this guy you probably haven't heard of: Vlatko Stefanovski

Huh, for some reason I haven't posted here. John Frusciante is the best.
