Yes indeedy. Perhaps I should explain... Very Happy

.132 B strings don't fit in my Ibanez, and my Crafter doesn't have a nut.

Question 1, then, is will a .130 B string fit my Ibanez? .125s definitely fit, because they come standard on Ibanez SR305s, but I can't seem to find a good set of strings with 45, 65, 80, 100 and 125 gauges. There's always a 130 on the end instead. I actually still have the stock B string on it... I got it at Christmas last year...

Question 2 is can I put the nut back on my Crafter myself? What's the level of difficulty? The Crafter is basically my experimental bass anyway. I can afford to take risks with that one. Since it's broken anyway, it doesn't really matter if I manage to mess it up somehow.

How can it not fit? XD .132 fit my Ibanez quite nicely. I think it would be easier to modify the nut so that the string fits, but that should be done professionally.

It just doesn't fit Razz Barely fits in the bridge, too. 'S weird, 'cause my Ibanez is a step up from yours (in theory) Razz

is the crafter nut broken? if not just use some woodglue to stick it back in. I usually put the strings back on to hold it in place while it dries.

you could file out the nut on the ibanez with a round or triangular needle file but it is very easy to mess this up so as Stryfer suggests "get it done professionally"

Are these the D'addario chromes strings?

You can get a small diameter chainsaw file for super cheap at a hardware store. Take the string with you to be sure.

They are pobably the D'addario chromes. I use the same and the last string gauge is .132

Good old Chromes - I had the same problem with a Jazz bass...had to drill the hole in the bridge wider and file the nut slot to make the B-String fit

Nope, the Crafter nut is fine. It's just kinda not where it's supposed to be Razz

And with the Ibanez, I don't want the Chromes on there anymore. I'll put Chromes on the Crafter, and roundwounds on the Ibanez. Thing is, I don't know if .130s will fit it if .132s certainly don't and I don't want to waste my money.

Since we are speaking of nuts, are y'all ever afraid of hitting the sharp edge of your nut when slide down real violently? When I've done it in the past, it has hurt pretty bad hitting the corner of it.
