Hi my name is Ivan and first of all, thanks for everything man,i just cant pay for lessons and this is great for me. Now, i have this kind of a issue here with popping, iim pretty comfortable at slapping but when it comes to popping, like loud kind off, as in funk, i tend to hook my finger too much and it ends up sounding too loud or even moving the bass away from me :/, is there any tips?

I haven't been doing slap and pop as long as some of the others here, but the way my instructor taught me, the trick is in letting the side of the finger grab the string and roll off, while using the wrist to turn the hand in an outward motion, and avoid actually pulling the string. It took some time, but now makes a nice solid pop.

Gus got it. The string has to roll off the finger.
