Slap and Pop
I apologize for if this has been asked before, but I would like to know how to stop the notes from ringing out when I am playing slap and pop, to get the crisp sounds like in the videos from Dman's website. I can make precise hits on the strings but the note continues so as I pop it doesn't sound good, also when I pop the note continues, is there something I missed in the videos. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Ant.

Re: Slap and Pop
If you're playing an open string - you hit the string with your fretting hand after you've slapped the note.
If you're playing a fretted note - there is a point when taking your finger off the fret where the note will stop ringing, if you do this too fast the note will just continue to ring out.
You're just muting the notes as you go to get a staccato sound ;x
Sorry if that made no sense at all

That seems to work
Thanks for that, now it's just going to take some practice to make sure I use my fretting hand right
