What are the Knobs???
Ok I just started playing, and I was wondering, what do the knobs do on my bass? There's three of them, and all I can figure out is that they're only volume....

Re: What are the Knobs???
How many pickups do you have? If its 2, then you'll have 2 volume knobs and 1 'tone' knob. This changes the amount of treble. If you crank it up to the max, you'll be getting an unaltered signal from the pickups, which is naturally trebly and picks up a lot of noise. Turn it down and it cuts off the higher frequencies, making it sound more bassy.
Hope this helps

depends whether you have active or passive electronics. If you need a battery to power the pick-ups its active. Also what bass is it?

Re: What are the Knobs???
Can you hear the difference when you strike a string? The difference is that if you have the controls set to hear the pickups nearest the bridge it sounds more growly and when set to the neck end pickups (pups) it sounds more like if you put a mic near the strings. You can have a mix of the two. Third one for tone as said in the post above.

I've got an Ibanez Jumpstart... and over the course of a day I've actually gotten the feel of it down. Thanks for the help! Yall respond really quick, too... I like it here!

Re: What are the Knobs???
So for quick look it seems that in Ibanez Jumpstart includes Ibanez GSR190 bass... At least at Thomanns. So it should be 2 volume knobs and one tone knob. One volume for bridge picup and second for the neck picup. Like maximo told already.
