So you either need to chill a bit, this is the internet, and people share the same name.
If its the second one, your father must be about 31-35ish if your 14(assuming your the oldest and he waited till after he finished school). If your step mother is only 22 your father is the f*cken man.

That's cool Freaky Guy but we didn't know that and I'm sorry if that's the case, we just got the aggression, emotion is hard to get a handle on over the net so you'll have to excuse us all for coming down on you like that. That said, to save more misunderstandings, the aggressive remarks need to be cut out unless folks explain what the problem is.

I agree as well that we need to stay on topic but poor internet etiquette will give us a bad reputation, let's try and be nice to each other, at least in public. An introduce yourself thread needs to be welcoming true?

I sometimes rage at random people on the internet when things like this come up, I know it's going to put me in trouble, but I still do it. Doing my best to make myself stop, and I want you guys to ban me for a week or so if I do it again. Deal?

Sometimes its easier to offload on a forum than anywhere else and despite what folk think it's easier to be honest and open on an internet forum too so don't be too worried.

The name is Bossalinie (think Mussalini when you try to say it) aka Quinton.

3 Month old bass player here, still sounding like 3 days old, but I am working on that. I'm 27 years old, so I feel a little late learning the game, but hopefully I should be decent around year 2056, so I'm looking forward to it! I have been into music since I can remember (played the trombone for 10 years from jr high to MSU days) and still love it. I always wanted to learn how to play bass earlier in my life, but never had the time. Since I am out of school and no more marching bands to roll with, I missed playing music, which in turn I finally forked out the moolah to buy a kit.

I found this site through Dman and his walking lessons. When he said you don't have to play scales all day to learn the bass, I was hooked.

Welcome to the madhouse

Hi. I'm a 47 years old guy from Finland trying to learn how to play bass guitar.

I started my journey in music at about 10 years old in Rauma Big Band where I played clarinette. That's where I learned the notes.

Throughout my later schoolyears I had a lot of friends that played classical music
and I couldn't avoid learning some more. The clarinette was forgotten.

I also started fooling around with guitar and keyboards. I never put too much effort
in playing guitar, but some more to playing keyboards. I still can break about all
4-tone chords and most 5-tone chords I hear into the notes. I never put enough
effort in learning keyboards enough to become good enough to start playing into a band.

At the end of - I think I could call it secondary high - I played bass twice in front of the
teachers and the rest (about 500) students - in the "beginning-of-graduation-exams" day
(that starts the private preparation to the exams) and the - whatsit - christmas feast of the school?

So I played bass back then, but had about quarter of a century break in practicing :-).

In february I played bass again in a wedding band, and after that I came up with an idea -
I should learn how to play bass - I mean the way that actually makes it possible to advance
even to the real bassist level. Not just playing some "this and that".

Why bass? I guess the bass lines or "second voices" have always been "natural" for me in some
weird way. From a pop song melody I can often guess the chords and the bass line in a basic form. Actually learning about keyboards brought this further (maybe because it's fairly easy to "count" the notes of chords).

I work as a senior software engineer, so my days vary quite a lot (at least in length) so
I don't have a bass teacher. Luckily I found this site. I have already learned a lot.

Hello!

My name is Alex I just turned 17 and I started playing the bass not long ago. I can play the guitar and the bass but I've decided to start focusing more on the bass. I play for my church but I've been keeping all the songs really simple. I'm trying to improve everything from my hearing, to learning how to slap.

I really like all of Dmanlamius's videos the lessons are really helpful and I've been seeing them for a while. The one I liked best was the Mourn his youth.
I love it because sound so great and I love the lyrics too... Reminds me of me tho
