Another questions from me >.> okay so just curious how would you make it so your bass sounds like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z74lNhbOhNY I don't really understand what pedal and etc and stuff so an explanation of those would be nice too,but like what type of distortion would you use to get that sound?

Re: Just Curious
I can get that sound with my Boss ODB-3. Really good pedal.

Re: Just Curious
That's a fuzz there. Chris Wolstenholme uses a Big Muff I think so a Electro Harmonix Bass Big Muff Pi would be a good option (I advertise this pedal too much )

I know, but the sound is quite emulate-able by using the ODB-3 as well. How much money do you intend to use on this stuff?

Re: Just Curious
Checked up on prices, ODB-3 is about £80, EHX Bass Big Muff is around £50

Re: Just Curious
I'm so clueless about this stuff. What's the difference between one pedal and another? What do all the different knobs do? And my main question, what is gain?

Re: Just Curious
1) Different pedals sound different and allow you to control the sound of the effect differently.
2) The knobs depend on the pedal, although a pretty common knob is a volume knob, also sometimes called 'Level', which changes the volume of the output of the pedal (or sometimes changes the volume of the effect in comparison to the clean bass sound)
3) For an overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal, increasing the gain increases the intensity of the overdrive/distortion/fuzz
