...Yeah.
Anyway, I've been looking at some 5-strings. I've kinda narrowed it down to these beauties...
http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Warwick-Rockbass-Corvette-Basic-5-A-SB/6ZP
http://www.dv247.com/guitars/ibanez-sr505-5-string-bass-guitar-brown-mahogany--50256
http://www.dv247.com/guitars/esp-guitars-d-5-active-5-string-bass-guitar-natural-satin--47095
But I don't know which to go for. My local music shop doesn't have any of these basses, only either much cheaper ones (There's a GSR205) or much more expensive ones (The 'proper' Warwicks) so I have to order online. So does anyone have any experience with these brands and/or these specific basses, or with another bass around the price of those 'uns up there?
If it helps, I'll be putting flatwounds on whichever bass I end up getting and playing a range of stuff from reggae to classic metal to ska to glam rock.
Cheers in advance y'all

Well, Warwicks are awesome regardless. But not so much so that I would recommend you get one, everyone likes something different.
I have a SR506 and its the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me, musically. Id recommend it to anyone! I can only assume the 505 to be similar.
I don't like ESP basses so I wont comment.

Randomly, there are two Warwicks that are the exact same model as the one you linked to at the local pawn shop here. Mayhap you could check around yours?
They're $199 here, by the way.

The neck on the Ibanez SR505 is beauuuutiful, really slim and smooth. It's a really 'fast' neck (that's all I remember about it )... No idea about the others though

I'm a fan of Warwicks, but that's just me. Ibanez is cool as well.

But then, from what I've heard, the Rockbass line is incomparable to the "proper" Warwicks, the difference is said to be at least as big as Epiphone-Gibson.

Right then, looks like I'll get the 505. Cheers y'all.

Not a bad idea; who knows, maybe I could get a nice amp as well

Re: БЭАДГ
At a reggae festival in Sweden that I went to earlier this year I listened to about 8 different reggae bands on one of the nights and the sweetest bass sound I heard all night was when Bunny Wailer and his band came on and the bass player was playing exactly the same Warwick Rockbass in your list of choices Pippynip.
All the bands used the same backline so it wasnt any equipment changes that made it stand out.
But the Ibanez is also a good choice . I love the thick sound of mahogany
