The Next Step
I've done all of Dman's lessons. I've browsed the internet for lessons. I've learned a fair number of songs. I would buy premium lessons but I have no money lol.
So, what's the next step? Do I just keep learning new songs? My parents told me they would pay if I wanted a bass teacher, should I do that? Should I see if my parents would get me some books? What is the next step I should take in my bass playing life?

I think, taking up lessons while learningmore difficult, and more difficult songs is the best option rigth now.

If you want to learn to read music I would suggest getting Bass Method Book 1 by Ed Friedland. He also does some gear reviews on youtube. His Reggae bass video is pretty good with a touch of humor.

Well if you're parents say they will pay for a bass teacher, but don't want to give you their credit card numbers to use online for the premium lessons, see if they can get you a prepaid credit card. That should work
Creating your own material is always fun, playing in a band even more so. Jamming with my buds is just an absolute blast, as long as were having fun really.
Cliff defs got the right idea too. Always pushing yourself for the more harder material is a good step in better playing.
Books are great for learning to read music, standard notation that is. Not to sure on what's good or not, but Fly see's to know
Just make sure you're having a good time as you progress through it

Yeah I've got a debit card I could use for premium lessons but my current balance is $3.78. I used to have some but spent it all on buying a bass/amp/a chord that actually worked(used to play guitar and brother plays guitar so we had about 5 chords and all of them were broken). Still might buy Hallelujah one of these days though. My parents don't really care about putting the credit card online, they just said that if I want to pay to learn I should pay to learn from a personal teacher.
Yeah I write little riffs and stuff a lot when I'm just fooling around. And I jam with this one friend of mine who plays guitar but I only know two drummers and both of them are *&%"$$^*@^ so I can't really start a band... plus I have a weird taste in music compared to all of my friends.
Fly, thanks I'll definitely check out that guy.
