Boomers!!!

Hey, I've always used either Rotosound or DR High Beams on my basses, and loved them. I'm feeling somewhat adventurous, and am thinking about trying some GHS Boomers to see how they sound and feel. I heard Flea used them before he made his signature set, and another one of my favorite bassists Sean Andrews uses them as well.
Anyone have any experience with normal boomers or Flea's signature set? I hear they have a really short life time, and quickly sound like old "muddy" strings. Any input would be great

Never used GHS. I'm an Ernie Ball man, although they, too, have a short lifespan.

I have ghs bass boomers 50-115 and i like them. =)
