5 string bass suggestions
Can anyone help me find a good 5 string, i wont be getting it for a couple months but i just wanted to be ready when it came to pick one out.
my price range is 300$ and im looking for something with good tone (for its price range) and something along the lines of a p bass.
Suggestions are much appreciated and there will be photos when i get it, i can promise that

Re: 5 string bass suggestions
Being the patriot I am I'll have to say 5-string Traben Chaos, but it's probably too expensive if you can't find a second-hand one. I hear Ibanez has pretty good 5-stringers, you should check them out.

I should probably add that im looking for a bass that looks somewhat different then my current bass (dean edge 09).

Re: 5 string bass suggestions
I don't really know much about the price range but I keep hearing good things about Yamaha 5-strings, and the're pretty cheap I think
Edit: thinking of it: as someone who hasn't been playing for too long and is 13, A: do you really need a five string and B: where the bloody hell did you get $300?

Re: 5 string bass suggestions
The obvious thing to do is try some basses out if you can!
But if not, I would definitely recommend:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-Deluxe-Active-Jazz-Bass-V-5-String-104383435-i1173144.gc
The Squier Deluxe Jazz V. It's not a P-bass, but if you would settle for a jazz bass instead and have an extra $30, get it It's got really good reviews and looks stunning in white (yes, I know I'm addicted to white jazz basses XD )
There's other good brands like Ibanez out there but... yeah

Also have a look at some 5-string Warwicks. Warwicks in general are quite good apparently.

Or second hand. My local music shop had a 4-string that was originally £1,100 up for £600. £100 out of my price range

I'm playing an ESP six string right now. Very well made and the sound is great.
I must suggest that you save and spend more than $300 dollars on a five string.
