your style
every bassist has a style so in this thread i want people to post their bass, gear, amps. and whatever else you use to perfect your style or give things your own twist...for example...i play primarily metal and to do this i play a goth thunderbird IV tuned to drop c and i use a rocktek delay, phaser, and overdrive. i use a peavey amp... your turn

Bass: Traben Chaos
Amp: EBS Classic Session 60
Effects: Boss ODB-3 (overdrive), EBS Octabass (octaver) and EBS BASSIQ (envelope filter).
I play almost anything I stumble upon that sounds like it's fun to play. I prefer to stay on the lower strings of the bass for the rumble that makes it so different from guitar, but I'm no purist. I'm completely comfortable with playing on any string as long as I'm not following the guitar (with exceptions).

Re: your style
i use a beginners set XD
i like to play songs with a repeating bassline, so i can improvise at some points (like dani california RHCP)
i want to learn the slap and pop methode, but its hard.
although i listen to metal, i like funk and rock more to play.
4 string ftw XD
bass tone: lowwwwwwwww
play until my fingers hurt, then i realise its time to stop ....

I agree completely with that, though I don't really listen to Metal, apart from Sabbath, Iron Maiden and a bit of Dream Theater now and again, and I usually keep on playing well after my fingers start hurting, six months in I still get blisters now and then.
