rejuvinate old strings
im new here so i apolagize if this has already bean discussed. ive heard you can boil old strings in order to get a little more life out of them, just wondering if theres any truth to doing this and if so do you add anything to the water or just straight from the tap. also how long do you boil them for? I have an old set of fives i was going to put on an old four string bass leaving off the g so i could experiment with some low tunings. thanx for any advice.

Just in case you don't watch the whole video, at the end there is a little note that says it's only a short term option.
