http://www.hagstromguitars.com/HB-8.html
how do you play that ;o?
i know it is octave like.
but can u play it finger style? can you slap it ?!
and, is it possible to play 1 string a a time? ( so dont hit the other string right beneath it)
i was just wondering

Re: a 8 string bass
I think you play it exactly the same as a fourstring, only pressing 2 strings at the same time. I don't think it would be easy to to play 1 string and not the one right next to it.
I quite want a twelve string, but I haven't the money

You can use normal techniques just fine on it, it just feels a little weird in the beginning. I don't really see what you're supposed to use that extra high octave for, though.

The idea is to hit two strings at a time, it creates a natural chorus effect. Its kind of the same idea as a 12 string guitar.
