it depends on how exactly you play, and how you want to sound. the gio is what i started on and it wasnt bad by any means. ive got an ibanwz atk which i feel is built for slap, it has sooo much room to slap and pop lol. but you can do it on any bass

Well, pickup a bass & try slapping it, see if it suits you
The Fender Jazz Bass is VERY popular for slap - it's thin neck allows for quick movement around the neck, and you'll find many slap bassists use them.

I never had any slapping problems with the Gio. Great little bass!
The musicman is a nice 'ol bass to slap as well. There are the "usual suspects" in the slapping realm that are good. Actually, thinking about i've played a hell of a lot of different basses, and it's rare that you find one that isn't ok for slapping.
It's normally budget basses, with thick necks, etc. Oh and anything with a high action (strings far off the fretboard) are normally a nightmare to slap.
