I know, many questions, but the only teacher I have is you guys.

So I want some hints on keeping the time in notes on my fretting hand.

Plainly - how not to make it ringing.

for instance, Kings' Stand by me has the technique I need. I need some tips on staccatos and short legatos.

Did I make sense? :/

If I'm understanding you correctly, then all you have to do is release some (not all) of the pressure on the string.

Yup you are understanding me!

How can I do that without losing all my focus? Suspect

I do that without thinking now. It just happens whenever I want it to happen. So practice practice practice!

You should learn Little Sister by Queens of the Stone Age.

Also, a lot of staccatos in a row can be played by putting your next-in-row picking finger on the string.

Oh, and the trick to reducing pressure to mute the string is to not think about it too much.
