Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
I nominate DTL for melody bass.
I has an idea for how to start the song off, or perhaps finish it, or to use as an extended bridge or something. When I gets some recording stuff I'll show someone what it is

Just fyi, I got dibs on part of the rhythm considering I'm completely terrible.

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
I can maybe do the synthy stuff but all i have to work with is audacity. Id probably have to just play along with the song and record it (at the same time) and then id edit what i played to make it sound "Synthy"

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
Make sure you share your parts in .wav or .mp3

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
I'd Really love to help in this, I have editing software like Adobe Sound booth ( for the audio of course ) and After Effects for the video, so I'm in ( if you want me that is ), if of course there is nobody doing this already,

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
I came upon reading the title. I'm in for whatever you need me to, just organize me. I have a Boss ODB-3, an EBS OctaBass and an EBS Envelope Filter for effects, so just tell me if we need something with those effects.

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
If you'll take me, I'll do some organising.
We can't have everyone play at the same time, so does anyone have preference as to whom they want to play with?
Current partakers:
- DropTheLines585
- MetalJacob (requested rhythm parts or simple parts)
- SuperMaximo93
- ThreeLetterSyndrom (not able to record at the moment, requested organisator position)
- Knackebrod
- Lololiet (not able to record)
- Willba (in some time)
- DavidM96 (requested to help by effects and whatnot)
- Bass Mon (can't record?)
- Pippynip (not able to record at the moment)
- SyneRRR (can do audio+video editing. Recording?)
- Some Freaky Guy
Ideas:
Maxf13: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFKKf1fagTM
SuperMaximo: http://www.upload-mp3.com/files/198878_vdjmk/supermaximo93_test_concept_badly_done_XD.mp3 (link does not seem to work)
We need a format for audio exchange. Does mp3 sound good?
Do we really need a genre? If we just play/write, something good'll roll out, I guess.
How many players at a time?
Doodle away, so we have plenty of things to work with!

I'm not sure if I can record, as my recording equipment is in Kopavogur Iceland right now... Long story, anyway If I can get it back I will be sure to do something so thats unlikely right now,

Just put S and P underneath it.
like...
G-----------
D--------5--
A-----3-----
E--3--------
...S..S..P..
Can't just use spaces, unfortunately. I chose full stops to replace the spaces.

I thought of a little riff that's probably in no way usable but I'll post it anyway.

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
Put me up as possible editor of stuff. I think we should use flac for audio exchange to begin with, and have the last compile with both flac and mp3.

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
for the file sharing i recomend using .wav files or 320kps mp3 audio files
they are larger than 128kps mp3 files but the quality is a lot better
Secondly i would recommend that we all stick to one set bpm
if we keep changing it will be hard to mix at the end
120 bpm is probably the best so I suggest that we all stick to that
also i think that we should make the raw files available for everyone so anyone who wants to can have a crack at mixng it can do so
then we can just see who did the best job of it or something

well i dont use popping and its not exactly a slap. I hit the fretboard with my fretting hand while playing and it makes a sort of slapping noise.

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
I Just wanted to add in that, while I can do Audio editing, I cant Mix or Master Music. I meant basic Noise reduction, volume stabilizing bass boosting / Treble reducing and such.

About the BPM... how long are we planning on making the collab? If it's just a 3-4 minute long one then we should definitely have one set BPM, but if we're gonna make a 10-15 minute long one we should probably have different sections with different BPMs otherwise it might get a little boring.

Beats per Minute, the tempo basically

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
thats what i thought but i didnt want to sound stupid by asking if it is the speed of a song, and then have someone say "no that would be tempo".

ah well, you can't always remember every musical term, you've got a life.

Re: FORUM MULTIBASS COLLAB!!
true indeed......so i think we need to make the list more "stable" in a way i guess.
Like make sure everyone can and will do what they say.
I for one WILL do what i said but one minor problem. I just learned audacity doesnt have a synth effect feature so the closest i can get is a wah wah effect. (correct me if im wrong)
