Re: tuning the bass
Man i hate that tuning. The bass is like inexistent
To lower your bass jaust detune it until youtr tuner says b.But i wouldn't suggest such low tuning, the e string is like the thickest string of a 5-stringed bass.

Re: tuning the bass
i dont kow if it was E to B
ijust have a simple tuner, i has only E A D G on it and 2 lights for tuning up or down
(dont know the exact words )
so i won't be able to change the E to an other ?
and the E string is the thickest string of a 4 string bass to XDXD

Re: tuning the bass
Are you sure it was a B? not a D?
DADG (known as Drop D) is a common tuning.
Does your tuner have a "flat" button on it?
If it does, just tune the E with 2 flats on it, which would take it a whole step down to a D (even though it'll still say E, it'll be a whole step down)

Re: tuning the bass
if you want to tune your E to a B. Get a proper B string and widen the nut - it will sound shit if you just detune the string.

Re: tuning the bass
I tune with an acoustic guitar tuner that uses vibrations in the guitar to tune and therefore doesn't even recognize the low frequency of the bass, much less pick up the vibrations. But I make do, so no complaining about your tuner lol.
Are you sure you're not talking about drop D? Dropping down to B the string wouldn't really vibrate at all it'd be so loose. Anyway if you want a B I suggest looking into a 5 string bass. You could try tuning down all that way but I don't think it will sound good.
If you want to play in drop D, click here for a really nice bass tuner. You can put whatever note you want in for the fourth string and press play so that it just repeats. You have to tune by ear but it's better than nothing I guess.
