Tighten definitely, going down from F# to A is a huge gap. Going up is F#/Gb ->G ->G#/Ab ->A

Make sure your tuning the right peg, I know it sounds silly but I've done it before and just /facepalmed.
Either that, or your tuner is just messed.

I am kinda thinking it messed. The tuner that is.
Thanks for letting me know that I do not really know the scales and what nots. The weird thing is My D and G strings pick up really easy on the tuner and the E string takes a while to pick up. Do you think its my pickups? LOL lots of pickups.

I got a tuner from my brothers old guitar (which has now been sold) and the 1 i got with my starter pack. A string is fine to tune for me, just the E is annoying Evil or Very Mad

you could use an online tuner if you have a decent mic or just tune playing octaves :]

I don't think this computer even has a mic. Like I said its hard for me to tune by ear. Next paycheck I will just go to my Guitar shop and get a new tuner.

Once your E string is in tune, hit the 5th fret on the E string - that's an A, so tune your A string so that it sounds the same as the fretted note. If you get close enough, and your tuner still says F# or something, then it's definatley new tuner time Smile
