my bass amp
hello guys,
i have been gone for a few weeks (trying on my own)
but i m back with another (proably) newbie question
i have a quitte simple amp. qith headset plugin, and mp3 connection
but also with 3 tuningthingys (forgot the word )
1 for BASS 1 for MIDDLE and 1 for HIGH
standard they stand all to the middle pointed.
but i think my bass sounds like a crapy electric guitar....
i turn my BASS to max and the other 2 to min.
now it sounds like a bass to me (much lower)
BUT my question:
if i play any song, do i need to change the tabs/notes because it sounds a bit lower? or doesnt it matter?
i think it sounds way cooler
thanx and srry for the bad english, i m not that good in languages, not even the dutch 1

No you dont have to change anything if you dont want to, i have similar settings as my amp is probably worse than yours and it has no distortion or anything, i sometimes change the settings for certain songs but never change the tabs unless i think its wrong, i always think of the sound i use as my "stock" sound.
Your english is pretty gd aswell dude

Re: my bass amp
The three knobs your talking about are the "EQ" a.k.a. "Equalizer".
This basically altars your tone into three different (sometimes more) sections, bass (low), mid, and treble (high).
Your bass typically also has a knob for your tone, which is just an overall tone knob (amp breaks it down).
As for notes/tabs, those are different from tone. You can always, for example, play a open G, and altar your tone at the same time, without the pitch of the G being affected. You can hear the difference the tone makes by just adjusting the tone knob on your bass while playing that open G.
Find your tone for different things you play, it can be quite fun to mess around with, whatever you like works. I too like the lower tone for most of my playing, but the higher tone can be nice with slapping and popping.
And yeah, Willba's right, your english isn't too bad at all.
