Re: God $*£!"^& dammit
What year was it made?
The new ones have a thinner neck..
A load of people over on the warwick forum are saying the new RBs are awesome, sometimes even better than the german 'wicks.
I can't wait to get my hands on it..

28/6/06 is the date it was made according to the warwick site, yeah I'd noticed you'd posted once or twice on the forum over there, I've been lurking on there for a few days now hahaFuzzy wrote:What year was it made?

What 'vette you getting a std or a $$? If you're getting the std the only difference will be the neck and fingerboard woods I think

Re: God $*£!"^& dammit
I'll be getting the $$.
Same as yours except a maple neck and rosewood fretboard.. and made by chinese people, but with the same machines used in the german factory.
Oh, and it's passive.

Re: God $*£!"^& dammit
Next month at least.. hopefully not too long after that.
Until then i'll be messing around with my very first crappy chinese p bass, which doesn't sound that bad, but the truss rod is stuck and I can't adjust it.
I've had to take it down to open C just so I can play the damn thing, the neck was way too bent before.

Waricks will always be a bass i like the look off and wouldn't mind using, yet I can never see one being in my possession for long - and I don't know why that is as I have no doubt that their superb instruments..

I totally get where you're coming from I really want a MIA Jazz and I keep looking at my wick thinking if I sell that I can get one easy. But every time I pick it up I realize why I won't be selling it... yet.

Whats the neck like on the Warick? I know them to be quite thick...whats your opinion? I take it that it has a tone to die for like any warick lol?

I'm used to Jazz style necks so it's feeling quite alien at the moment, especially since the guy I bought it off used it for metal so the the strings are really thick. But as you know the neck on a warwick is where that awesome growly tone comes from. The $$ doesn't have quite the same bite to it that the other wicks do it's more subtle in my opinion but it still sounds fantastic.
I don't think I'd pay new price for it though as good as it is because as I've mentioned a Jazz bass would be more my thing but it sounds great and I cant resist a bargain I just need to get some 40-100 nickel's on there and I'll be good to go, if the neck is still too much of an issue after I have it strung up I'll probably just stick it on evilbay for £500 or there abouts

Re: God $*£!"^& dammit
The new warwick necks are apparently much thinner, though still chunkier than say an ibby neck.
I want a streamer $$ or streamer stage II

I'd love a stage II but I think the next wick I get will be a CS Streamer LX when I get that I'll definitely be getting rid of my $$

I love it. but I can't warrant having more than 2 basses that cost a grand ><
