Has anyone bought a copy of the above?

I've had a look at the contents list and I haven't heard a lot of the tracks, just wondered whether it would be a nifty thing to buy and then get the individual tracks from MP3panda or somewhere and get stuck in to learning them?

Your thoughts ladies and gentlemen please Cool

In fact there seems to be 2 versions - one published in 1986 with 1024 pages and on in 2003 with 800 pages - gonna have a look and see if the contents are considerably different......

I have the older version Smile

It's pretty good - If I'm bored, I'd pull it out, listen to a few of the songs on youtube and pick one to learn. Give it a shot Smile

The contents aren't hugely different I don't think - probably about a dozen songs that are different?

Couldn't manage to get the full contents list for the second one but I worked it out to 257 songs spread between the two books.

Gonna order both methinks.

Woah... I think most transcriptions are the same, so ordering both isn't worth it. Personally I think that the older one is the better one Smile

Pippynip - we're on about a book full of bass tabs called The White Pages - there seems to be several of them (for Guitar, Bass, Acoustic etc) they have about 200 songs in each one.

Smaz - I could only get a list of about 160 songs for the new edition so I couldn't compare them all but I was sad enough to copy the ones I could onto a spreadsheet (cos we were sooooo busy at work lol) and then eliminate the ones that matched up - there was still a good 57 songs difference between the two - hopefully more if I could have got a better copy of the contents of the new edition. Trouble is I want all of 'em - aaalll of 'em I tell ya!

Why do I sound like a pirate?

Who knows.....

Arrrr!......mutter....mutter scratch

'Bout 18 squids each edition tho as Smaz has said there is a lot of duplication over the two editions.

They're both available on Amazon at the mo!

Very Happy

Hmm... I might think about getting the older version. My music taste is just that, old Razz

Smaz, can you give me an idea of what kinda songs are in it? I mean, is it more Deep Purple or more Madonna? Razz

Its a good book...lots of variety in the types of music. Its fun to listen to a songs from different genres and explore new ideas. Some of the songs are easy and some more challenging...its a book that will take a while to get through.
