@willba: Upload it elsewhere I believe it's servimg not letting you use the direct photo link, only the link to the page.
& @ reuben: Holy smokes.... That bass looks stunning, perfect condition - I'm extremely jealous!
It looks like it's the same one that marloweDK's borrowing, so anyone that wants to hear it... http://playbassnow.com/bass-lick-of-the-day/l271-d9-bass-groove-w-open-string/ He's strung his with flatwounds, it sounds amazing

The Lakewood in the middle is a beautiful guitar to play and possibly my most prized possession. I'll be trading in the Ovation Balladeer along with my Ibanez SR for a Corvette $$ sometime this year.
Ampwise I have an Ashdown Perfect Ten but I couldn't be arsed disconnecting everything and dragging it over to the sofa lol.

Re: Official gear photos thread
From the reviews it sounds my kinda thing, the Ibanez SR300 I have at the mo is a great bass but it "sparkles" to much for me, the Vintage on the other hand has true deep growl along with almost trumpet-like highs and at leaast a quarter turn on the amp volume knob more power than the Ibanez.
So the descriptions of the outrageousness of the depths of the $$ along with almost bell like highs really pushes the right buttons for me.
It'll be a few months before I can even order one so I have plenty of time to do my research too - gonna go with the 5 string btw.

Re: Official gear photos thread
Good choice, if I could turn back time I'd definitely go with a 5 string $$. Cool, I was really surprised at how boomy it can be, it takes a while to find settings that you're content with (or at least this is how it was for me), sounds fit though, however you have it set up

DTL, your Seymour Duncan bridge pickup is upside down!

No of course not its just aesthetics but i would say that the string spacing looks slighty out on the D and G strings. ideally the strings should lie in between the two poles but not to worry, as long as the volume doesnt go lower when the string is out of the magnetic filed of the pole pieces. But i could be wrong it could be the angle that you took the picture.

Re: Official gear photos thread
How can I fix the spacing? That seems like something the bridge is not designed to do.

Re: Official gear photos thread
There isnt a lot that can be done about this this, looking at the neck pickup the bridge seems to be placed correctly as the strings appear to line up with the poles quite well. Is the neck pickup original?
I wouldnt worry about it DTL as long as there is no drop in volume when you bend or play the G string.
Anyway, I've seen worse
