Which bass will I pick (part deux) Empty Which bass will I pick (part deux)

So I have decided that I will be getting a metal bassed bass. I had my heart set on this:
http://www.andertons.co.uk/Products/i/large__ESPF155DXDSTP.jpg (sorry about the link, I am no good at the internet)

But then I was going walk abouts in my local city and I noticed the Schecter range:

I Don't know which one to get, as I have only read reviews about either of them. If anyone has opinions on which bass is better, they would be appreciated Smile

I'd be more inclined with the schecter, you can also use it outside metal bands without looking too out of place... I've also heard a lot of good things about them, whilst almost nothing about the ESP.

Schecter all the way.

The ESP looks too stereotypical IMO

Hmm, well ESP is very metal specific in all it's guitars (bass and electric). So if you're looking for a really metal based bass go with ESP.
I've never seen or tried a Schecter, but I'm pretty sure it's more neutral than the ESP. Meaning it can fit well in most styles, which isn't a bad thing.

It all depends on what you want. You could check how each sounds, or try them out if possible. Don't know about the Schecter, but I guarantee that the ESP will be like 10 tons of crunching steel.

Another thing you may want to be aware of is the fact that the Schecter you posted is a fretless, which isn't metalish at all.

Yeah, I couldn't find a decent picture of a fretted version.

I have another bass which is basicly a hunk o' junk, but I was thinking about using that modle for funk, and having the ESP in the band I want to form

At the moment, the only thing keeping the ESP as a contender is its body shape and colour, I think I will go for the Schecter.
It also comes down to price, I am a little bit on the unemployed side, so money doesn't come easy
