Re: Favorite bassist
I found a video that I think Ryan Martinie is particularly insane in
Even if you only watch the first minute of it, youll understand

Re: Favorite bassist
Have to add Cass Lewis, Geezer Butler and Lindsey Ann Ballato(even if she isnt done any superb stuff but she is fun to watch play live).
Kinda weird that none dint mention Geezer. Have to love Black Sabbath.

Yeah, same.. He's not a personal favorite but he was good.
Justin Chancellor from Tool anyone?

Re: Favorite bassist
Dr Matt Destruction from The Hives, his bass lines are soooooooooooo simple but I enjoy playing them and he has to be one of my biggest inspirations.
Tim Commerford from Audioslave/Rage Against the Machine
and last but not least Christopher Wolstenholme from muse, his bass lines are sweet

Robert Trujillo (Metallica)
Whats-his-face (Manowar)
Although Robert isn't Cliff you have to admit he threw in some fun stuff in that last album.
He also has his own way of finger plucking like Cliff had (Not the same, but something not every uses) Robert also just takes the stage with his low on his hounches prowling around. Like some caged animal finding a way out. And it does through his bass

Mr Marcus Miller
Go to about 4:15 for the song, sounds amazing, no drums or anything else, just 3 basses.

Its SMV. Which is the first name of each of the bass players. Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller & Victor Wooten. They are probally the 3 most famous solo bass players out there at the moment, and they came together to make an album which they are currently touring with.
