Re: Chords...............
root - third - fith
Use that for any major or minor scale
I take it you have to find all the triads of one key?
Take C Ionian(Major), a triad would be C E G
D Dorian - D F A
E Phrygian - E G B
F Lydian - F A C
G Mixolydian - G B D
A Aeolian - A C E
B Locrian - B D F
Check smaz's post for more infomation about the scale names

They are all part of c major, just start on a different degree of the scale.

Re: Chords...............
Just to add to Dans post. Here's a way to remember which are major and which are minor chords.
Lets take the scale of CMajor.
M=Major
m=Minor
d=Diminished
M m m M M m d M
C D E F G A B C
C = Major CEG
D = minor DFA
E = minor EGB
F = Major FAC
G = Major GBD
A = minor ACE
B = diminished BDF
C = Major CEG
That's all the triad chords in CMajor.
Then you would move around the circle of fifths to G Major but you add a sharp. Then to D Major and add 2 sharps. A good way to remember where to put the sharps is learning something like this, Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle. So G major gets 1 sharp, the sharp is F#, D Major gets two sharps, its F# Sharp and C#. So your using the capital letters of the Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle for your sharps. With scales with flats you go the opposite way so its Battle Ends And Down Goes Charles Father and this goes the anti clockwise on the circle of fifths.
So G Major would be
GABCDEF#G
D Major would be
DEF#GABC#D
Minor scales are in the notes underneath the major scales on the circle of fifths. CMajors subsequent minor is Aminor
ABCDEFGA, and have no sharps or flats.
To help you here's the circle of fifths.

Re: Chords...............
Try finding them yourself based on the knowledge above, it really isn't that hard once you know the notes on the fretboard. Even try writing the notes down on paper and then figure out where the notes are on the fretboard. I think thats why your teacher gave you this exercise so you would learn how to find chords, finding tabs on the internet can be helpful but a lot of the time we don't learn anything from them.

Yeah i actually figured a solution out,but still...
TLS:The three notes i wrote were on a,d,and g strings.And they are a c major chord.Basically if you play the chord(no triad),on c major,you can see that.
