any good tab softwear out there?
I'm getting tired of trying to find bass tabs that are right. It seems everyone plays something different, or it seems like it missing beats. I like all types of music, but trying to play by ear is hard on some song. Anyone know of anything out there? besides DMM by (sienzo)? Thanks.

I use tuxguitar. Just like GP, but it's free! If you insist on using GP I have a subtle little hint for you here: [censored]

With out sounding like a right arse hole here I have the best tab software you can get.
Your ears! The earlier you start using them to work things out the easier it will become, you'll get to a stage where you hear a riff and you can virtually play it without touching the bass because your ears know the sound.

He's right. Tabs are good but you shouldn't completely rely on them.

Save me some writting and saves you all the trouble of reading it.
Sorry though, I can't play by ear...yet... I know it's a huge plus, but I've been cursed will horrible hearing power and only just a week ago did I learn my first little riff by ear (and I knew what the starting tone was).
Earmaster is an amazing program though and not just for hearing. I recommend it to all

Only a good program? It needs to be damn near perfect at £60 Seriously, just how good is it? If I buy it, I don't care how long it takes for noticeable improvement to show, just so long as it's guaranteed to show. Is it easy to navigate? Perhaps most importantly for me, is it boring?

Well i'd want some improvement to show relatively quickly not much point if it takes 20 years (exaggerated) to improve

Re: any good tab softwear out there?
I said amazing, not good
I never said you have to buy it.
There's a demo if you want to try out how it works. It's simple, easy to use and improvement is very steady. I can vouch for the rhythm exercises because they've helped me loads! As for ear training I've only just started and I have a natural anti-talent at it, but it seems to help as I am slowly getting through the trials.

I use guitar pro too, I'd be lost without it.. which is probably a bad thing.

Well, sometimes the bass is hard to hear in songs right? So......we need guidelines XD

it's only hard to hear because you haven't developed your ear enough to be able to hear it. Im not trying to start an argument here or anything btw, just my point of view is get using your ears as quickly as possible, you'll progress much quicker. I wish I didn't wait till 3 years of playing before i started using my ears.

Re: any good tab softwear out there?
Aww, man...I'm at 3 years right now too :S Seems like I'm just starting too. To be honest, I don't think it's possible to start with ears that early, because you need time to get used to the sound and tone and everything. I remember earlier, I played all the wrong notes when trying to learn and couldn't tell. Now I can tell, but man...it's still slow XD

So... If I learn to play by ear now it makes me some sort of god?
