im rhi or as they call me on another bass forum mikey due to my love of mike dirnt (but im female and they know) so call me either and ill respond. soooo far ive found it helpful but only searching at the moment, when i can afford lessons i'll get them but im unemployed at the mo so this is handy.
ive just been offered a position on the worship band at church as soon as my skills are at a level i want them at.

im getting hopefully a fender squier mike dirnt sig percission bass so Fred will be my prac bass and Mike will be my playing bass ohh oooppps im an aussie living life large in adelaide...dont forget to recharge

I love art too! All forms, music, literature, paintings, scultptures.... just too bad I'm only good at one, and semi-deecent at the other. The two of which being music and writing.

Was going to ask if you played punk. The Mike Dirnt sig bass is meant to be pretty good, enjoy it!

ive actually sat down and played it, just jamming for like 3hrs and was asked was i going to buy it and i was like dude i dont have the dough... so he took me out the back into a soundproof room and set me up with a 200wtt custom made amp with 5specker surrond and 2 fallbacks. he handed me the bass and said do what u like just dont mark or scrach the bass otherwise u have to buy it. i was there for 3hrs!!!

ohh and yeah i play stuff like Green Day, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte stuff like that mostly Green Day though HUGE FAN!!!! i wanna get my mike dirnt sig bass autographed by mike dirnt himself but the chances of hat happening are like 0.001/10000000000000000

Oh! I didn't know that was the Mike Dirnt sig bass.. thats awesome. I've been just getting into punk again myself, used to love it years ago, before I was even really into music. Now I'm 15 and full of angst : p. Plus I'm starting to get into vocals, and I find punk easy to put your personality into.

Im 16 years old and I got my first bass about a year ago, only been playing relatively often since about 5 months ago.
Hope to learn some more about music theory and get a better "music ear". And of course have a good time here on the forums.

I've been learning bass for a couple of months now, ha. I got my first bass for christmas. I'm trying the self-teach approach, which is difficult but my only option at the moment. I've been losing motivation so I wanted to find some forums to interact with other bass players that would hopefully encourage me to continue learning. (Or it's just encouraging me to procrastinate more.. what was I talking about?)

Welcome! I too got my first bass for Christmas, and am loving the self-taught approach. I have some songs which are kinda easy but keep your fingers in shape, and are fun to play to (if you like the type of music that is). First one, Daft Punk (tabs),Digital Love (music), pretty simple, just play along. Next up, Gorillaz (tabs),Feel Good Inc. (music). This one is really fun to play, not a whole lot of complex movements but good sound and plenty of play room for adding your own stuff! Fun fun. And last but not least, a kinda medium difficulty one for someone just starting...OkGo (tabs),Here It Goes Again (music). These may help you kinda move along with the fun. Hope you enjoy!
