MASTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (done in a death growl by there old bassist Jason Newstend) not sure if that counts as singing though.
that dude from Motorhead who sounds terrible (IMO).
If talking backup then i find it hard to go by Chris Wolstenholme from Muse, especially some of the older stuff.

I was going to say him, but John Lennon was the lead vocals more then him, so i wasn't sure if he counted.

Well he definitely counts now that the rest of them are dead (well, not Ringo, but he's a drummer, so...) while he's still gigging Razz

not exactly, the lead vocals were taken care of by the one who wrote the song ( contrary to popular belief they didn't write songs together or not usually anyway ,so you can tell who wrote the song by checking who's singing lead vocals ) . For example: " Lady madonna " is written by Macca so he sings lead , "lucy in the sky with diamonds" is Lennon, so he sings lead etc.

Other examples of bass players being singers ( or even lead vocals ) are Mark King and Sting .

I let my bass do the singing. And you can get chicks by playing some good bass. You can. So don't go straining your vocal chords just yet.

That's me shot on all three counts then Razz

Nah, apparently my personality, while weird, is funny. Funny always helps. And also apparently my bass playing isn't all too bad.

As I understand it (never tried myself), wooing the lady types with a bass is much more difficult than wooing the lady types with a guitar, 'cause with a guitar you can go "LOL I KAN RLY SHRED" much sooner than you can go "SLAPPIDYSLAPPYSLAP" with a bass. That about right?
