I was 10 minutes away from buying an Acoustic bass...

Here in the UK, we have a scheme called "Take it away" - basically, you can get any instrument, up to £2,000 interest free, spreading the cost over 9 months. I did it for my P-Bass, and it's great...

I was going to buy a Farida AB-10n electric/acoustic bass, but the finance company shut at 5, unlike the shop which shut at 5.30...

It's £700... But the action was perfect, it sounded perfect... I'm probably going to go back tomorrow & pick it up, unless I can think of a reason not to... Anyone? xD

If it's perfect, go for it.

I always wanted an acoustic.

To take it camping, sit on the beach or something.

Unlimited amount of places to play, unlimited amounts of inspiration

I reckon if you went out with it though and played at a beach or wherever most passing people will look utterly confused. "What happened to that guitar?!"

I'm actually considering then playing a couple of songs down my local pub one evening, if I have something to play. It's normally quiet down there, and I work & drink down there so know everyone & would be allowed to do it... Just need to a) practice & b) find stuff to play

My Mum just asked me about the finance, how much the interest rate is. It's interest free, but she'd have made an offer if there was a charge etc. Might see if I can negotiate an ampeg combo too then.... >

If you do go ahead and purchase it please give a small review. I've been eying some acoustic basses recently myself and i'm pretty sure one will be my next purchase. I'd love more portability it my bass, it would give a man on the move wayy more play time.

You might find that your strings die a little faster on that thing. I don't know why, but mine tend to get a little muddy after about three weeks.
